NEIGHBORHOOD VOLUNTEERS

Welcome to the community garden…where parents find support and friendship while raising their children. Durham Connects has created the Neighborhood Leadership program to surrounded parents with positive social support. Neighborhood Leaders are parents in your community who can lend support when it is needed. The neighborhood leaders have a knack for building informal resources for new parents. Whether it is an ear to listen or someone who can point you in the right direction, neighborhood leaders are there to support parents and the Durham Connects program. Leaders will work closely with Durham Connects’ nurses to understand the communities in which they work and how to best serve their needs. The Leaders will also develop grassroots efforts to promote Durham Connects in their communities.
