Cribs for Kids of Durham launches 3rd annual Mother's Day campaign
Special opportunity to honor mom by sponsoring a crib for a family in need…
Durham, N.C. (April 11, 2011) – Cribs for Kids of Durham has launched its 3rd annual Mother’s Day donation campaign in order to provide cribs to families with newborns. People may sponsor a crib for $50 (or any portion of) in honor of their mother or someone they love. The honoree will receive a recognition card notifying them of the donation made in their honor along with a poem written by a Durham mother whom was helped by the program.
Cribs for Kids has donated hundreds of cribs to Durham mothers in need of a safe place for their newborn to sleep. In order to receive a crib, families must obtain a professional referral on their behalf such as from a nurse, social worker or other case worker. Babies must be less than six months of age and parents must attend a safe sleep training session. Cribs for Kids' mission is to reduce the incidence of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). SIDS risks are higher in families that do not have a safe, designated place for an infant to sleep.
To sponsor a crib in honor of your mother or another loved one, please mail your tax-deductible donation to Welcome Baby c/o Cribs for Kids, 721 Foster Street, Durham, NC 27701. Checks should be made out to: Welcome Baby with Cribs for Kids in the note. Please note the honoree’s name and address. Tax receipts will be mailed to the name and address listed on checks unless otherwise noted.
